Virtualtopia was incorporated back in 1995 to provide services for the Internet. We were one of the first companies to build websites in New Zealand.
In the early days of the Internet, it was our mission to get companies and organisations a website with a good domain name. Believe it or not, it was tough convincing people back then. We pressed on knowing the Internet would be huge and websites would eventually deliver more than images and text, but would also deliver video, TV, radio, and even applications.
Since that time, we have grown alongside the Internet and mastered what we consider to be the essential components needed in order to get your business or idea to thrive on the Web. These components include:
- Designing and coding responsive websites that look great on any device;
- Managing hosting servers and CDNs to allow your website to load quickly;
- Implementing content management systems mostly WordPress as the platform for running and updating your website;
- Securing WordPress websites from hackers and spambots;
- Domain name management including advice on what to buy, where to buy, and configuring your domain to deliver Internet services;
- Search Engine Optimisation to bring free traffic to your website by being placed on the first page of search engines via your desired keywords;
- Web advertising and social media campaigns to promote your business and website;
- Monetisation of your quality web content giving you a residual monthly income thereby encouraging you to create more quality content;
While these services are in demand today, we are still futurists and looking toward the next decade for emerging technologies. Similar to embracing the Web early, we want to be well positioned to adopt the next big thing. Today our eyes are on AI, AR, VR, IOT, Blockchain, The Dark Web, and RFID.
The term Virtualtopia originated from the concept of the metaverse. At a time when the future of the internet was uncertain, we envisioned Virtualtopia as an ideal name to signify the development of a virtual realm. Subsequently, we adopted this name for our company as we recognized our role in shaping the virtual world.
